    1. Thank you Tom for your congratulations! I do plan to turn the dissertation into a book and to publish as soon as possible. That will be the focus of my attention over the next several months, to find a publisher and make sure the dissertation is in a form that can be accessible as a book. I look forward to sharing it more widely at that point!

  1. Congratulations, Dr. Tarnas! Brilliant stuff. Looking forward to the book. This presentation reminds me of a quote from Jeffrey Kripal: “The imagination is evolving into the imaginal. We are about to fly.” Thank you for your conviction and perseverance on this important work.

  2. Hi Becca, I felt raptured while listening to your dissertation defense. Your mastery was beautifully reverberated with clear and confident articulation. Heraclitus may have said ā€œyou would not find out the boundaries of psyche, even by travelling along every pathā€ but you Dr. Tarnas have created one hell of a bridge for the rest of us. Looking forward to reading your book, leather bound in red and illustrated with your art!
    Love & light,

    1. Jason, I am so touched by this response and so grateful that you appreciated my dissertation defense. The journey in relation to this material has been a profound one, and I have been grateful for the support and interest from many, both near and far. And yes, now onward with the task of trying to turn “The Back of Beyond” into a book! First though I need some time to rejuvenate. Thank you again so much!

  3. I heard your wonderful lecture at the Atlanta Jung Society and was so happy to be able to hear it again-brilliant work -I am the other harpist. I look forward to the book!

  4. I can possibly offer you some gifts to “rejuvenate” (including distant Reiki) however I imagine that you already have all the ways that you need to accomplish that (and especially if you have access to deep nature as you have had in the past). My thought is to support your swift recovery so you can continue right along with your book that we all already love!

    1. Wow, I am so touched by this kind offer. I have certainly been in a process of recovery and rejuvenation over the last several months. I did not know it would take a long as it has been but the recovery is indeed coming. Thank you for your support and interest in the forthcoming book!

  5. Dear Dr. Tarnas,

Will “The Back of Beyond: The Red Books of C.G. Jung and J.R.R. Tolkien”
